Dear God (?)...

My resolution for 2011 is a big, fat bank account & a slim body. Please don't mix these two like you did this past year.
Anyway, wish a wonderful NewYear 2011 to All.

Have a Beautiful Day.

Prefab Sprout...

Prefab Sprout was formed in 1978 under the leadership of Paddy McAloon, songwriter, guitarist, keyboardist and singer (born in Durham) and his brother Martin on bass. They hire the singer Wendy Smith (girlfriend of the eldest) and drummer Michael Salmon, replaced in 1984 by Neil Conti.

The first 45 laps of the group, "Lions in My Own Garden: Exit Someone" appears in 1982. Promoted by John Peel on the antenna of BBC1, it allows Prefab Sprout to sign with the label Kitchenware, a subsidiary of CBS and released the mini album "Swoon" (1984) with the single "Do not Sing".

The next album, "Steve McQueen" (renamed "Two Wheels Good" in  the United States for copyright reasons) came out in spring 1985. Produced by Thomas Dolby intelligently, this album of pop fragile generates the late hit "When Love Breaks Down".
Prefab Sprout then records "Protest Songs" that did not appear until 1989, and connects with "From Langley Park to Memphis" (March 1988) included "The King of Rock'n'Roll" (ranked No. 7) and also "Cars and Girls" , a hidden tribute to Bruce Springsteen. The album is hosting a solo from Pete Townshend and harmonica plays from Stevie Wonder

In August 1990, the conceptual "Jordan: The Comeback" (again produced by Dolby) is no exception to the label's musical group of sophisticated pop with clear guitars, atmospheric keyboards and its alternation of male and female voice. Between albums, Paddy McAloon accumulate new projects, an album about Michael Jackson or the ecology (Earth: The Story So Far).

The band is back for "Andromeda Heights" in 1997 when Neil Conti, who left in 1992, is replaced by Paul Smith. Then in June 2001 with "The Gunman and Other Stories of the American West". This album produced by Tony Visconti is recorded as a duet by the brothers McAloon, without Wendy Smith then pregnant, but accompanied by guitarist Carlos Alomar and keyboardist Jordan Rudess.
Health problems affects the creativity of Paddy McAloon, suffering from Meniere's disease. However, he released the solo album "I Trawl The Megahertz" in 2003 and progressively reactivates Prefab Sprout to work on a new album." Let's Change the World With Music", delayed one year, go on sale finally in September 2009.

Prefab Sprout is a "soft pop" group but the titles from the 80's are worth to listen. "The King of Rock'N'Roll", "When Love Breaks Down" are great tracks.
